There should be a checkbox in user preferences to
prevent the user from receiving copies of emails
that they themselves sent in.

There's a global configuration option that will
prevent nosy messages from being sent to the
author of the message. It hasn't been activated.
I think it would be simpler to change the value
of this option.
Alternatively the User class can be modified and a
"metoo" flag added...

It would have to be a per-user option, since some users have expressed
that they do want to have copies of every change on file. |
