Sometimes make distclean removes the Makefile and
some times it doesn't. What's the correct behaviour?
I'm attaching an exhaustive list of files and
directories that are left behind after "make
distclean" is done.

I should've specified that those are all files
produced by a run of configure followed by make
distclean.
This list2.txt lists all the files that make
distclean doesn't remove after a compile, minus
those simply produced by configure.
