Not sure, if the bug still exists, bug filing it for the record. I should test it one day, if I get the client to work again or write a testcase :-(. From SF bug <https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=416147&group_id=322&atid=100322>: It seems like the fixed decorators, created by layoutkit.*fixed* methods, don't do their job. Contained Graphics seem to still draw over the bounds. See attached screenshot - there was a |layoutkit.fixed(pane, 3000.,2000.)| around each of the 2 panes (tree and msg subjects) of the window. Nevertheless, something is drawn outside of the |fixed| decorator. How much is drawn over the bounds varies, e.g. when I move the window around, there seems to be no bound whatsoever, i.e. *all* of the content is drawn. OTOH, I could never interact (with the mouse) with a Graphic the is incorrectly drawn outside, i.e. the stuff drawn incorrectly is non-functional (which is good). I don't know Berlin well enough, but I guess that the DrawTraversal is broken, while the PickTraversal (responsible for mouse input) works correctly.
Indeed, any Graphic can scribble anywhere it likes, even resetting any clipping that the frame graphic tries to impose. This would require a drastic change to the DrawingKit API in a direction I don't know if we plan to go.
